Pitstop Loyalty System 2.0: Smarter Rewards, Stronger Retention

Pitstop Loyalty System 2.0: Smarter Rewards, Stronger Retention

Track by vehicle. Reward by spend. Run multiple campaigns. All at once.

When we first launched Pitstop’s Loyalty Stamp Card, the goal was simple: give automotive businesses an easy way to reward repeat customers and keep them coming back. Hundreds of car washes have since used it to build lasting relationships with their customers. With our experience and your feedback, we are excited to introduce Pitstop Loyalty System 2.0 - a comprehensive upgrade that transforms how you reward customer loyalty.

A Quick Refresher: The Original Loyalty System

The original Pitstop Loyalty Stamp Card was built around a straightforward concept: customers earn stamps for visiting your business, and after collecting enough stamps, they receive a reward. It worked well for many businesses, but it came with some limitations:

  • Tracking by mobile number only — Every loyalty card was tied to the customer’s phone number. This worked for individuals but created challenges when the same vehicle was serviced by different family members or drivers.

  • Visit-based stamps only — Stamps were awarded based on the number of visits with a selected product. Whether a customer spent RM50 or RM500, they received the same single stamp.

  • One card per customer — Each customer could only participate in one loyalty programme at a time. Running a car wash promotion alongside a service promotion? Customers had to choose.

These constraints meant the system worked best for simple, single-service businesses. But automotive operations are rarely simple—and your loyalty programme shouldn’t be either.

What’s New in Loyalty System 2.0:

The upgraded loyalty system addresses every limitation of the original while opening up entirely new possibilities for customer retention. Here’s what’s changed:

  1. Track by Mobile Number or Vehicle Number

You now have the flexibility to tie loyalty cards to either the customer’s mobile number or their vehicle registration number. This single change transforms how loyalty works for automotive businesses.

Why this matters:

Think about a family car. Dad brings it in for an oil change one month. Mum brings it for a tyre rotation the next. Their teenage son drops it off for a wash. With mobile-based tracking, that’s three different customers—none of whom ever complete a loyalty card. With vehicle-based tracking, it’s one car steadily earning rewards, regardless of who’s behind the wheel.

  1. Flexible Stamp Earning Methods

Stamps are no longer limited to counting visits. You can now configure loyalty cards to award stamps based on:

  • Number of visits with selected product — The classic approach. Every purchase of a specific service earns a stamp.

  • Number of visits by category — Broader rewards that count any service within a category. Buy any wash package, earn a stamp—whether it’s a basic rinse or a full detail.

  • Amount spent — Reward customers proportionally to their spending. Spend RM100, earn one stamp. Spend RM300, earn three stamps.

This flexibility means your loyalty programme can finally match your business model—not the other way around.

  1. Run Multiple Loyalty Cards Simultaneously

Perhaps the most requested feature: customers can now participate in multiple loyalty programmes at the same time. A single customer or vehicle can earn stamps across different cards, each with its own rules and rewards.

Why this matters:

Your business offers multiple services, and customers use multiple services. Now your loyalty programme can reflect that reality. Run a car wash stamp card, a service stamp card, and a spending-based VIP card—all simultaneously, all tracking independently, all driving repeat business.

Beyond Features: The Strategic Benefits?

The upgrades above aren’t just technical improvements—they unlock strategic advantages that directly impact your bottom line.

  1. Prevent Gaming Through Number Sharing

Here’s a scenario every workshop owner knows: a group of friends figures out they can share one mobile number to accumulate stamps faster. One person gets free services while you lose revenue on rewards that should have gone to multiple paying customers.

Vehicle-based tracking eliminates this problem entirely. Each car earns its own stamps—no sharing, no gaming, no exploitation. The loyalty reward goes to the vehicle that earned it, full stop. Your margins stay protected while legitimate customers continue enjoying their rewards.

  1. Build Flexible Customer Retention Strategies

Different customers respond to different incentives. Some are motivated by free services after a set number of visits. Others are driven by rewards that scale with their spending. With the upgraded loyalty system, you’re no longer forced into a one-size-fits-all approach.

You can now design retention strategies tailored to different customer segments:

  • Frequent visitors who come for small services? Reward their consistency with visit-based stamps.

  • High-value customers who spend big on major repairs? Reward their loyalty with spend-based stamps.

  • Customers who use multiple services? Let them earn across multiple cards simultaneously.

The result is a loyalty programme that feels personal to each customer—because it is.
